Keratin or Highlights First, Which Is Best?

The answer to this question will always be highlights first. As I’ve already mentioned, adding highlights right after a keratin treatment will not give you the results you want. In fact, having your highlights applied first has its own list of benefits.

Of course, highlights are recommended to be used before the keratin treatment. This will significantly extend your streaks’ life. This will due to the fact that the keratin procedure is extremely effective in helping seal the color in. As a result, your hair will be more permanently colored. Also when done before a procedure, your highlights will expectedly look more vibrant.

However, do not get upset in the event of forgetting to schedule the highlight appointment before you treat your hair with keratin. If you wait at least two weeks, you will anyway manage to get the necessary results.

Waiting a little longer will be just a plus since most keratin therapies last nearly three months. If wait longer, your highlights will look better.

None the less if you wish to use highlights looking as if they belonged on the red carpet, adding them before the keratin treatment is an ideal variant.
